Run A Farm Farm Expansion: What to Buy or Build and What Each Step Costs

Last updated:

The on-screen Run A Farm farm expansion shopping list: Seed Market $50, Field 1 $120, Sprinklers $120, Farm Office $500, Storage Racks $800, Garage $1,200, plus the Farm Office worker hire prices shown on its panel.

Growing a Run A Farm farm past the starting chicken coop is a shopping list: You buy each structure outright, from a $50 Seed Market to a $1,200 Garage, and then hire workers at the Farm Office to keep everything running. The official game description frames the destination: start with one chicken coop and grow it into the biggest farm in town, selling eggs at your stand, planting and harvesting crops with tractors, driving trucks to town to sell goods, digging ore in your own mine, and hiring workers and buying new vehicles along the way.

Quick answer

You expand by buying on-farm structures one at a time and then hiring workers at the Farm Office. All prices below come straight from on-screen text and can change in updates.

  • Seed Market — build $50
  • Field 1 — $120
  • Sprinklers — $120 (crops grow 30% faster)
  • Farm Office — build $500
  • Storage Racks — $800 (stores 120 crops)
  • Garage — $1,200 (creates a TRUCK BAY)
  • Worker hires: Planter $400, Stocker $550, Farmhand $1,020; Tractor Driver stays locked until you have a Tractor Barn

The farm build list and what each purchase does

Six purchases make up the core on-farm expansion, and each one posts its price right on screen. Cheapest first:

Data table

Data table
What you buyPriceWhat it gives you
Seed Market$50 (build)Stand labeled 'buy and unlock seeds'; the SEED SHOP sells seeds here
Field 1$120A field to fill with seeds and grow crops
Sprinklers$120Crops grow 30% faster
Farm Office$500 (build)Opens the TAP HIRE WORKERS panel for every hire
Storage Racks$800Store 120 crops
Garage$1,200Creates a TRUCK BAY

The Seed Market is the cheapest build on the farm and the on-ramp to the crop half of the game. Its shop lists Wheat, which grows in 30 seconds and sells for $2 each, and Carrot, which grows in 45 seconds, sells for $5 each and carries a $400 UNLOCK price. The market itself is a one-time $50 build, and new crops are the natural follow-up spend.

A few tiny purchases share the early farm with the big builds: the EGG PRICE upgrade button costs $15 and walks your egg price up from $2 to $2.50 and then $3, while the Farm Bike ($15) and Flower Planters decor ($15) sit in the same under-$20 tier.

The Farm Office: what every worker costs

Once the Farm Office is built, a TAP HIRE WORKERS prompt opens a panel listing four roles. Three hire for cash; the fourth starts locked. The fractions on the panel are hired-versus-total slots — 1/3 Stockers, 0/2 Planters and 1/6 Farmhands on the observed panel — so one farm can run up to three Stockers, two Planters and six Farmhands.

Stocker$550Carries eggs from the nests to your standCarries 12 eggs per trip; 3 slots
Planter$400Sows your empty fields with your seedsSows one field per trip; 2 slots
Farmhand$1,020Harvests your ripe fieldsCarries 15 crops; 6 slots

The roles split along the farm's two money loops. Stockers feed the egg side, carrying eggs from the nests to your stand so sales keep ticking over while you are off doing something else. On the crop side, a Planter sows your seeds into empty fields one field per trip, a Farmhand walks through ripe fields harvesting crops, and a Tractor Driver automates the tractor harvesting once you can hire them.

The Tractor Driver is the only hire that starts locked: the panel tags them with 'Needs Tractor Barn'. The Farm Office panel itself does not show where the Tractor Barn is built or what it costs, so it is the one expansion purchase on this page without a confirmed price.

The Office also sells two upgrades for the crew you already have: WALK SPEED at $1,500, listed as +5% per worker at LV 0/10, and CARRY at $1,800, listed as +20% per worker at LV 0/10. Every successful hire confirms with a toast like 'You hired a Farmhand!', so you can tell the hire went through.

What to buy first with early cash

A new farm funds this ladder through its starter loop. You begin at the chicken coop with quests such as 'Buy a hen!', 'Sell 60 eggs' ($150) and 'Collect 30 eggs' ($30), restocking the stand with the 'RESTOCK - Stand here with your eggs' prompt while the quest chain runs from 'Grab the eggs!' up to 'Raise egg price!'. Those quest rewards come from one observed new-player session, so expect small differences after updates.

When the first real spending decisions arrive, the price ladder mirrors the loop. The Seed Market and your first field are the cheapest way into crops, Sprinklers make everything you plant grow 30% faster, the Farm Office opens every hire, and Storage Racks and the Garage are the big-ticket additions at the top. Early cash also goes a long way before any of that: more chicken coops mean extra eggs and steadier stand sales, seeds fill your fields so a tractor can replace hand-harvesting, and a first worker keeps daily tasks moving while you mine or drive trucks into town.

If the early grind feels slow, the official game description advertises a code, RELEASE, for free cash — the Run A Farm codes page keeps the current working list.
